Anytime I work on a BMW I always record the CAS ID. I know I can use that number to repair a CAS modules but what does the number represent? Is it a BMW software designation number or is it a reference number for Xhorse? Just curious for future reference.

Thanks for the reply

I have never seen matching numbers between the CAS ID shown in the user interface and the sticker on CAS case. So in case of a damaged CAS you are saying that the Xhorse software has ALL of the CAS IDs software versions saved to do a repair? This is the part I have trouble believing and would think you would need to be connected to a server to access this type of database.

Strange, but if you put your cas id into google you will see cas with matching number. So in this case i supposed that your cas has not matching case.

It is the ZUSB number in WINKFP,ofcourse it won't match because 99% of BMW's have updated SW version in CAS...
If you go now to BMW and order CAS,you will get the latest SW and ID will match the sticker...
