Hi,

I am thinking of buying a tool in order to start chiptuning.

What do you recommend to buy and why? I was thinking of Kess clone with ktag.
I am having trouble deciding if it's a good first tool or not, as everyone use to like it's own tool and information is buggy from one site to another.

I probably will be using it with almost al the euro cars, as I do work on cars on weekends.

All information is welcome.

If you want buy original, take x17 from magicmotorsport. Very good tool and very good support.

I'm a hobbyst, so I will go for a clone probably.
I was guessing that it must be a frequent question, but it has susprised me that I haven't seen a sticky thread about it. Pros and cons of different tools

Can both of these do EDC17 ecus? What about Auto gearboxes?
I have seen videos of Ktag being able to do some ECUs that have to be "unlocked" on the bench. Is this becoming more common?
