Can anyone help have rattle as heat shield loose come away from cat and exhaust. our friendley quick fit says 400 quid cant get single replace, my son who is mechanic not seen car yet says self tapper if cat ok from what has been explained. anyone has any thoughts oh and a diagram to fix as not a car he fixes usually.

weird 400 sheets for a bit of tin!!!

Self tapping screws sounds good, but

a) use a washer a "2 pence" type one just add a hole
b) try not to drill through to many fuel or brake lines
*think* but not sure something about mr2, fuel tank
and centre tunnel.

Somebody somewhere (NOT me) had a Hocus-Focus with
the same fault, he put a pop rivet on the job then
lowered the car off the ramp and woundered why the
spare wheel would not come out.

DFM springs to mind.
