Can someone explain why cable isnt being affected by any of this? I understand $ly dont own cable but can virgin follow the footsteps?

I hope they don't but they could do as the new v8 just came out ... but still in test ... I think we have a year or so before everything goes iptv

Cable is totally different to Satellite. Not only are VM and Sky totally different companies but they use totally different encryption technology as well.

You need something with a DVB-C tuner or sometimes called DVB-C/T/T2

yeah if you have a VU not sure about other boxes depends on what image is running on the box

That will work with 99% of enigma2 receivers if that is what you already have

One main thing is you need to be connected to a Cable (VM) network !!!!

Sorry troops I'm a complete novice at this. Have VM connection no box. Can I not just buy a box and get VM card share same as sly.

Yes virgin can and probably will follow suit on what nds(cisco) are doing with 28.2 at the moment, Virgin have already been implementing cs meaures since late 2015 by the way of issuing boxes with no viewing card.

Also even tho you have a vm connection it may not be live if you have no subscription with vm, best to get basic broadband in at least to gaurantee your line stays active.

Ok so in order to get cable I would need the minimum sub with vm and without this cs would not work? Vm is bloody expensive even for broadband :stung:

there doing a deal at the mo, basic channel's phone line, 50 meg broadband ?29.00 per month...........c
