Heat the oil in a large, heavy-based saucepan.
Fry the onion and garlic until softened.
Increase the heat and add the mince, cooking quickly until browned and breaking down any chunks of meat with a wooden spoon.
Pour in the red wine and boil for 2-3 minutes.
Stir in the tinned tomatoes,tomato puree,fresh chilli,cumin,ground coriander,cinnamon & Worcestershire sauce.
Crumble in the stock cube & season well with salt and pepper.
Bring to a simmer, cover with a lid and cook over a gentle heat for about 50 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally until the mixture is rich and thickened.
Add the kidney beans & cook for a further 10 minutes, uncovered, before removing from the heat, adding any extra seasoning if necessary.

I can confirm that this is excellent!

I didn't add the red wine 'cause I don't like it but was excellent without it.

I also added a few more chillis (5 to be exact) cause I like it HOT HOT HOT!!!

Massive thumbs up m8! :)

Thanks Dreamer for this.

Glad you and Devilfish enjoyed your chilli.

I have another Chilli you can try , its more tomato based, and without the red wine and worcester sauce.

Will add it later today , as i just got in from nights

This sounds the dogs will give it a bash at the weekend.

Update: Now made. Letting it settle until tomorrow - soups, chillis, curries always taste better the next day.

Cheers to Aftermath and Dreamer for posting this.

Very nice indeed lads - think I will add a few more chillis next time.

sounds excellent, I always add 2 or 3 squares of good quality dark chocolate 10 mins before serving, gives the chili a nice authentic mexican flavour, try it, you wont be disappointed.

Nice recipe, will try it this week and looking forward to it. One comment, " buy the lean mince" the poorer quality may spoil it with all the fat content. also if you dont like the type of beans you can use baked beans if this makes it to sweet wash the tomato sauce off.
I've tried some recipes and this is simpler and more enjoyable :eating:
