lads just had a merc in and my scanner showed these codes

p200a
p201b
p201c

snap on scanner said the first one is hot film mass airflow sensor

but autodata says

intake manifold air control actuator bank 1

? any ideas .. is it just an maf ?

firstly google them
secondly, clear the faults, see if they come back within 2 mins, then disconnect the hair-flow meter and take it down the road doing a michal jackson (just BOOT it)
and see what it says.

might be worth putting somebodys hand over the hair-flow meter and see if it stalls out, or does a beautiful south (carries on reguardless)

more inclined to blame airflow meter, because (i might be wrong) it would appear to be to old for one of them funky flap things on inlet manifold (2nd 'choke')

Tink i would go maf as cant see 2 air actuactors on 2 banks being faulty, the ecu will calculate if they are working by the measured inducted air, ie mass air flow. hope im right pal

that's two that agree, think that grezacediagnostics and myself should say:

"tell the customer you have to a maf to eliminate it, then if need be say 'not my money that's being spent'"

assuming grezacediagnostics is happy to say the above with me

im happy with that meathead, think it will turn out good if maf replaced. Sometimes mercedes it cheaper than after market, but sometimes not. Would use o.e as cheap ones dont last 2 minutes. i always replace air filter at same time.

thank you grezacediagnostics.

hair-flow meter agree with non o/e ones are cr*p eg vauxhall

with the "German Swedish and Polish " hair-flow meter did they say if it was exchance or o/right? Not that i care

just make sure the air-filter box is 'ashford and simpson' (solid as a rock) as if converted to 'fully free floating' it can cause hair-flow probs, eg escort diesel

just remember to put somebody elses hand over airflow to check it stalls.

AHH converted to fully free floating system, bit like clay pigen sho*ting, when they are on the ground they are easy to hit, but when in the air damm impossable

Great job, i would love to do that, start with 0-100 test, 100-0 ten times, test abs, t/c and test revlimiter and airbags

pointless testing ferraris, jag xf etc, because only ppl like estate agents buy them, all they do is ask Ned the gardner thinks of the car in the daily mail and desision is made

no i cant spell

if all of them it is so throlle body work fine.
mass air flow when run engine
between 750--900 rpm myst you look in tester

parameters of maf 6-7.5 kg/ms if you look more is damaged . change it.i think the no. bosch of mass is 0280217114
