Hello folks,

I can't obd diagnosis via OBD. There is BMW E60, 2004MY, 7 pin in OBD only. As I saw in documenntation, There is gateway for link diagnostic D-BUS with rest of the modules, and it is SGM (Airbag with gateway).

So if I cant talk with SGM ECU, but can talk with modules connected directly with PT-CAN (i forcce PT-CAN via tester) so I think there is SGM problem. My question is: is it possible, that SGM (gateway) fault can freeze central electronics function like power windows, wipers, wheel switches...

SRS diode lights, engine run (but no RPM, Speed, temperature info in dashboard)..

PT-CAN is alive inside bus, so car run and esp transmission function OK in bus, CAS also but in PT-CAN there are many communication faults..

K-CAN diagnosing impossible using tester, but signal seems to be OK.

Bytefly bus not checked, but red diodes for fiber lihting...

Somebody had such situation and solved it?

Best Regards.

mates, somebody has experience? I opened SGM ecu, measure supply like 5V for ic's and found, also checked K-line (d-bus) patch on pcb and seems to be good.

What do you think, that this ecu after power supply 12V to terminal 30 and 15WUP and ground, stil send something to d-bus (in obd connector fllap is resistor).
But that message is very strange- like open colector output, voltage ride with delay, and after obd-tool conect and start transmision signal change - more "0-1" style.

Is it normal?

check vin numbers,
if your gateway has differnet vin number (i.e. its replaced) it will not communicate with other modules
