I take it dash data on 93c86 VDO simos 7 on audi a3 is encrypted
How many forms of encryption are used? Does anybody know?
I was wondering if the mileage was changed to less than 100Km.. is that possible? if so then could the actual "real" adjustment take place using VCDS? Thoughts are on doing manual modifications of the bin as not to have to ask somebody to do the work for me as im not sure how to decrypt yet. (tips would be welcome :p).
Still on subject of mileage... i've opened up a dash but not got to the ecu yet. Am i right in presuming that the ECU also has the 93c86 on it that can be desoldered and read with xprog or similar? I presume the algorithm will still be the same to decode. Im just curious as to what the mileage actually is on my vehicle.
