Hey guys, I'm brand new to this, I have UPA 1.3 and trying to change mileage on 300C , it has odometer in miles and im switching it into kilometers (US->CANADA) , I took the instrument cluster apart but I can't find EEprom anywhere, anyone has pic of what to look for?

Thanks!

U should look for mcu 9s12dg256 in cluster

there's nothing even close to that, there's no typical 8 legged eeprom to be found on either side of the board

It's no were near 8 legs eeprom . Its an MCU

ok, so which wire should go into what port and what kind of adapter? I have only the one for 8 legged eeproms. Sorry for newbie questions but I haven't done this before and I can't seem to find the howto anywhere..

Hey guys, I finally figured how to find schematics in UPA to solder wires to my MCU correctly. Now the only thing I still don't get is what does dotted line between VDDR and P9 represents ?

I havent done one like this yet but im gonna go out on a limb and say that means to raise that leg/desolder it but I maybe wrong.
What eqipment tools do you have I believe it should be OBD job, dont forget SRI otherwise why do anything.

I'm using UPA 1.3 , i desoldered it from the cluster and soldered the pins, it sees the voltage but it's not connecting, I think its due to oscillator missing, Ill have to solder it back onto cluster and try again, ...sorry , what's SRI?

"there's nothing even close to that, there's no typical 8 legged eeprom to be found on either side of the board"
I think he needs more input lol
sorry just noticed it! lol

yeah i found where to solder wires on the MCU , however it's not communicating , i think because i removed it from the board and it's not having oscillator. Ill be re-soldering it back onto the board tomorrow. This is how I did it, but completely removed it from the board

No need to desolder the MCU from the PCB

I think only hc11 needs to be removed sometimes from board even then sometimes not and just lift 1 leg but either way most H12/9S12 can do in circuit most of times by bdm

hey guys, now that dash MCU has been reprogrammed to correct mileage , how do I find and do the same on the PCM/ECU? anyone?

no need to remove/open PCM,can be done by obd with any scan tool who write/reset SRI and PCM mileage
