Hi,

I m a newbie here. Just found this great site.

I m looking for a Petrol engine ECU tuning software like eg. Dims sport. But Dimsport have some limitation.

It there a such thing like can access to the ecu directly through the OBD plug and can perform live tuning?

Anybody here have any recommendation? I ever saw a tuner from denmark that he can do it.

Please help, thank you.

Tuning an ecu is work for a professional. If you go a little bit too far or not far enough, you will damage the engine. And how are you going to determine if the car has more power after you changed something?

Totaly true. Let the pros do the tunings. Its much better to pay for good tunings, then **** up a engine. I have tuned cars for some years now, and have software to make my own tunings, but still think its better to pay a pro to do the job.

Yes, we can let the pro's do the tuning, but what happens when you want to become a pro? You have to start somewhere, right? :)

generally i would say start with a standalone mappable ecu. Something thats got clear software and you can monitor changes with a via a wideband AFR gauge. An EGT gauge will also help.

Road mapping is less than ideal (people have died doing it) but can be done.

If you want to get into mapping, get an ecu for your car thats easily mappable, get an afr gauge and try get some dyno time.

Tis the easiest way to get into things rather than just tweaking random hex tables in winols and hoping for the best..

Theres also some really good books on amazon on the subject too.

Off topic i know, just thought ide thrown my 2p in anyway.
