Hi guys,

New to the forum but from what ive read here is the placewhere help and expertise is plenty.

I have an insignia that I purchased with a faulty ecu. After purchasing a new ecu kit I have the car running and back on the road. However I have a few issues, the ecu kit was taken from an estate car so the boot wont open as it looks for the boot lock module which isn?t present on the saloon. Also the milage is incorrect as it shows 112k but my car is 124k. Doesn?t seem like much but as the car has fsh and I believe should always be true. So I purchased a genuine Gm Mdi unit in order to reprogram the modules and so they can work with my original bcm for which I have the car pass.
However I do not have the car pass for the ecu bought from the scrapyard, so I have ordered an eeprom reader and I am looking to decode the eeprom dump so I can obtain the car pass. Then I can reprogram everything using sps and make the car true again.
Could anybody point me in the direction of a guide or software that will give me this info

Many thanks in advance

would it not be easier to pull the vin no off the ecu from the scrapyard and then request the carpass for that car off the dealer? That would be the easiest way over here, the car pass would only cost 20 euro

Hi, wish it was that easy. I have the vin from the ecu and the registration but as the car has been scrapped vauxhall will not give me security code. That's why I'm having to explore this route.

The bcm is the key factor, mileage and immo wise.
Post the eeprom.

please find attached both eeproms. One from the original bcm with 124k and sec code of 5503 and the second from the new ecu set. I have flashed my old bcm with the working eeprom and now i have all my boot working etc... and car starts so its just the mileage now. If anybody could change the mileage to match the original 124k that would be great.

Is the mileage in the BCM then and not in the IPC?
