Hi
I've just read through the total-spoonfed guide, everything seems to have been done correctly. At the end it says 'go to Sky Sports 1' - I can't find any channels on the dreambox at all!
I checked the folders on FlashXTP to see if the keys were there and the files in the scee folder and they are all present.
I checked on the dreambox itself and can see the files in the scee folder but not in the keys folder - is that a problem?
Also, I noticed that when using Flash, there was no keys or scee folder - I had to make my own folder and then drag the files into them. I don't know if that is an issue.
I'm almost there after a very long wait - can anybody help me over the finish line please?!

you need to scan for channels initally, use Bruteforce

Thanks for the reply jfish but I have no idea what brute force is. Is it already on the dreambox or is it something I have to download? If so, how do I get it onto the box?

If you have a UK image flashed goto Set up > Service Search > automatic Transponder search, and scroll through untill you find Brute force, it will then lock, and you will then be able to "start Search"

Thanks, tried that but there are only 2 options to scan:
All (SR6900) and All (SR6875)
Tried scanning both but no channels found. No mention of brute force.

Ok guys, I think I have made a very silly error and not uploaded an image! Sorry about that, will retrace my steps and rectify this and hopefully all will be ok.............
P.S. Can I just upload the image now or will I have to clear everything and start over again?

Actually, I was right first time, I did do everything correctly! I wasn't sure because it has been a couple of weeks between flashing the image and putting in the keys (long story!) but I did flash an image - Digital Kaos v1.1.
Just done the whole process gain in about 15 mins and still no channels, no brute force etc but everything else seemed to go without a hitch.
Could the problem be with the image? Is there something I should be seeing when I switch on the box? It just goes blank until I press the menu key - is that normal?

how are you flashing the image with telnet or dreamup? are you definitely getting an incoming feed. make sure the cable is fitted without any splitters straight into the box.

I'm using dreamup. The null modem cable is attached straight from PC to the box.

I'm using dreamup. The null modem cable is attached straight from PC to the box.
The cable in question was the actual CABLE Feed rather than the null modem cable. Anyways, as long as you're confident that your image has been flashed correctly and you have your key and rom files in the right place. Can you have a look to see if you have the cables.xml in /var/etc if its a DM500C that you have.

Ah, you mean the virgin TV cable feed? I had no idea that this needed to be connected during the flash!
In the user guide on here, it says to disconnect all wires from the box and then attach the null modem cable - no mention of connecting up to the cable TV.
Will try again with cable connected, gonna feel stupid if that was the problem but if you read through the spoon-feed guide, doesn't say anything about having it connected..........

db the feed doesnt have to be connected when you are flashing i just meant that when you are scanning make sure you are running the cable feed straight into your box.

Ok, well I tried to flash with the cable connected and it worked this time! Digital Kaos is now on screen, all channels are downloaded with bruteforce..............but non of them appear apart from the FTA channels! All are blank, even after starting evocam. Any suggestions?

they shouldnt all be blank you should be getting free to air channels. to get the scrambled channels you need to add the keys and rom files. i assume you have them if so copy the contents of the folders into the same folders on your box. reboot the box go to ss1 and let it update.
what area are you in?

Yes, I'm getting the FTA channels but have input all the keys into scce and keys folders, rebooted but still blank. I'm in Nottingham 2.
On the PC it shows on Flash XTP all the keys and nag files successfully transfered but on the TV, I can only see the nag files - is this correct?

I got the files from rapidshare - downloaded from the link on the spoonfed guide on here. I've done everything on the guides and also on the link you posted, several times but still no luck!
Would be tearing my hair out now if I had any!

No, they are dated 17/04.
I'm trying to download the keys from your link instead - will these be the updated ones?
Waiting for rapidshare to allow me access!

YEEEEEEEEEEESSS!! It's midnight but I finally got there! Thanks to everyone who kindly offered up their help and time on this thread.
The initial problem I think was something to do with the image I downloaded - it didn't seem to work the first few times, even though I didn't change what I did (apart from put the cable line into the box when I flashed, though I'm not sure this actually did anything and was just a misunderstanding!).
The 2nd problem was because I downloaded keys from the Spoonfed Guide on the site, which are apparently out of date - thanks to Jok for pointing me towards an updated link.
Just as an after-thought, maybe someone could update this guide? I have seen several posts on here from people who have had the same issue as me (blank screens for Sky Sports after completing all actions) and I'm sure it's because they used the same out-dated rapid-share link on the Spoonfed Guide.
I also think it should say something about what should come up on the TV screen after flashing. My screen was blank (again, something many people have complained about) until I pressed 'menu', upon which a few basic options appeared. I just assumed that it was the Digital Kaos Image I'd attempted to flash and just continued onto the keys, oblivious to the fact that the image had not transfered. Would have saved me a lot of time and I'm sure will lead to less frustrated newbies bothering you experts!
Anyway, thanks again all, great site, great help - now off to waste my weekend watching ESPN!
