Can someone tell me as a fact what the supply voltage is to the cam position sensor.

Some Google hits say 12 volt and some say 5.

I have a 12 volt supply and the switched wire goes from 12 to 7 which to me, seems stupid. I replaced this sensor and it goes from 12 to 3 now which still seems stupid. I am wondering if it should have a 5 volt supply.

The car will not start reliably but once started it runs really well and will start all day until the next morning when you really struggle to get it running.

Ignition on,white cable with ground should give you between 11-14v.This is the suply voltage.
The signal ,measuring (pink and black cable) has to be from 0v to 5v switching while turning the engine on(without plugs so it wont start)

I dont remember well mate maybe the wire colour are different.

Had a few in with bad starting, it was always CRANK sensor. Main dealer only and expensive.
