View Full Version : ZAFIRA CIM PROBLEM

HELLO GUYS,
i have a 2006 zafira that doesn't crank, the owner says the problem started when some technician messed with the rear fuse box when he tried to fix a not working indicator lamp. after that the car has been in the hands of many technicians. when i started fixing it it had many modules with CAN communication errors but i found out that there was no power to these modules now they are working.
the only problem is communication issue with instrument cluster i opened it and found a blown IC. am stuck because i cant read the numbers on it.
The question is:
can a fauty cluster not arrow the car to start? is the immo in CIM or cluster?
The errors i get are P1614 and P1616

Immo in the dash, sound your instrument cluster is damaged, a very easy solution get another dash from scrappy and change over eeprom M35080 from old cluster to new cluster.

Zafira B have immo in CIM faulty dash can make problems on CAN communication. From what module you have this errors?

Both replies above are correct but sound as if they are contradicting each... immo is stored in DASH & the CIM.. aswell as the REC.. the UEC & the ECU.. all components need to be working and matched.. as mentioned earlier if dash dead get second hand cluster from breakers.. (zafira b or astra h as clusters the same). Personally I would read the 35080 to obtain pin to divorce it from old vehicle as I have seen different eeprom data in these..
