Sometimes no crank if engine is warm (90°C) and sits for a couple of minutes.
You finish your shopping, open the car, put your azz in the seat
that is at 55 degrees because silly driver left the car in full sun,
the starter only do 1
-TEK-
when you try to crank
and the starter do another
-TEK-
when you release the key from the starter position.
If you wait some seconds or minutes you have 2 option:
a) the starter keeps doing TEK-TEK for every attempt
b) the starter start to spin regularly (a bit faint compared to a NEW one)
So I replaced the starter with a regenerated one,
was Valeo France the faulty and I put a Valeo-Sando (?) regenerated from Polsky guys (?)
(never heard of Sando but have no time to pick up one famous brand because it required to many
days for delivery)
Also be carefully you will not read in the entire web this ALERT:
while removing the 30 terminal that is covered by a plastic cover,
also the 50 terminal will go out because the 50 is not bolted but only
push to the starter by a silly bented washer that act like a silly spring.
That silly washer was broken in 3 pieces while removing because it's thin
and you have to pull the 30 and 50 terminals and the plastic cover in STRAIGHT direction
and it is almost impossible cause the 30 cable goes in the alternator.
So when reinstalling starter I put a copper washer with these dimension:
internal diameter: 16 mm
external diameter: 22 mm
like this

The reinstalling order is this:
put the 30 terminal in the plastic cover
put the 50 terminal in the starter
put the copper washer with grease so it sticks a little to the 50 terminal
put the plastic cover with 30 terminal inside and press it against the starter
put the nut (13mm) in the 30 terminal
screw the nut to the starter

Another ALERT that I've read from an Italian forum (forgotten the name of the forum)
The starter is bolted with two Torx 40 bolts.
One bolt is reachable under the car, the other is reachable via an hole
in the gearbox.
This top bolt, DO NOT REMOVE IT COMPLETELY because if it fall while removing
it goes inside the gearbox and there it stays.
You have to unscrew the top bolt a little, unscrew the bottom bolt a little,
unscrew a little the top bolt, unscrew completely the bottom bolt,
then unscrew slowly the top bolt that is longer with respect to the bottom one,
when you can move freely the starter LEAVE THE TOP BOLT there in place, ask
someone to keep the ratchet and the bolt there while you remove the old starter
and put the new starter back in place.
In this manner the TOP BOLT is not going anywhere, just be carefull to not move
the other people grabbing the ratchet and bolt.
The new starter is about 50% less noisy with respect to the old one.
