Plugin compatibility between different images

Hi friends,
just got my dreambox DM-500S and it's really cool.

As far as i've understood, the OS the dreambox runs is Enigma1 and the images (e.g Gemini, Nabilo, DK,etc.) are just different flavors of the OS (am i right?)

I wanted to switch from Gemini to Pli or Nabilosat (just for testing purposes) and my question is:
Will the gemini plugins i have be compatible with the other images?

If no, then my second question is:
Which image contains the largest amount and most useful features/plugins? (for e.g I consider RSS readers,Vlcf,dreamnetcast,youtube player as useful plugins)

The most used images are the PLi ones and Nabilo ones so i would think they have the best plugins.
