Hello everyone.
I programmed a prox key to a CX-5.
Customer had a 2 button variant, and we only had 3 button in stock.
Before we programmed, we knew that it would leave the car with a fault message in the display, but the customer really needed one extra key.
Now they want a new correct key (2 button)
So, couple of questions:
Will deleting the wrong prox, while adding a new correct remote get rid of the fault message?
Question 2: the only place I could find a 2 button prox was from china. Its oroginal, but when reading the transponder, it says its locked (pcf7953)
Have not really checked any other Mazda prox keys, but I would assume it should NOT be locked? And that they sold me used remotes as new ones?

I program many times used keys but always original key, if u delete key and program 2 corret remote, fault mesage disappear.

Will update this thread after I get the car in question back.
have the remotes from china (original, but i think used) and I also bought two brand new from dealer that I will pick up tomorrow)
Will try to program those from China First.
I bought brand new from dealer as well, so I can solve the issue when customer gets back. I hate not beeing able to finish work.
Will let you know when Im done.
Good to hear that the message will disappear. I thought it would, but sometimes you need to clear fault messages by equipment.

So from what you say, I will be able to use the 3 button prox I used the first time on another CX5? It dosnt need to be unlocked?

ye sure, i have transponder reader(tango) but never check status key before programing. Like i sad i program many times the same key in another car, always work, only when key is incompatiblie (keyless and remote work OK), dashboard show red key(fault) in cx5 on display in cx3 , mazda 3, mx5 blink red key (when u read fault with ids in SSU-start stop unit fault B13D3-it is normal).

So if you need the correct information on these mazda with proxy start by giving.
(YEAR,MAKE, and Model) just like a customer calling you for the first time. Info is always needed!
Ford,Mazda proxy do not lock and they do cross over to Toyota/Scion.
