renault cd player help!

hi guys can anyone help me with my fine piece of french enginering, ive got a 2004 megane with a tuner list cd player i have to wait 32mins before i can put the code in because someones been putting in the wrong code b4, but when i finally get to put the code ie 0000 is displayed it wont let me enter the numbers, any ideas? im going to torch the bloody thing soon.

you have to put code in via the joystick on steering stem.ie the wheel on radio stem.after each number press mute and after last digit hold mute in till stereo comes on.

yeah tryed that dont think the stem is working, mute button works but the wheel just dont want to know. prob why the last owner changed the head unit. cheers
