Bad flash? Xbox Bricked?

This is going to be fantastic if I can get it to work. I joined this Xbox 360 forum in the first place becuase I was given a 360 which would only play music CD's and some DVD's. From this forum I found out that it was a bad flash with the wrong DVD key.

If I get the DVD key back it will be a dreamcome true.

there is also a mod chip out now that can doo the same, so it will be able to accept any key on the drive.
