Does Dreambox "talks" back?

Being new, I was wondering if any of the Dreambox communicate with cable company? (Like the "offical" boxes supplied do?) Do I need any low pass filter for any protection?

Any other ways they can findout if I have a dreambox?

no they cant tell theres no talk back, unless like someone else posted an engineer calls to work on the line.
