As you can see the power lines are not verry smooth. so this is not Revo's best product. but still much better than ebay tuning files.

We are working on the software... it is possible to communicate over galletto interface... but needs some work... edc 15 ok, edc16 still problem.

We hacked the credit system.. now give credits for 5 cars.. after 5 cars only need to restart software and again credits for 5 cars..

Thats their little secret ;)

Now just relax, and await their new posting about the status of it.

I'll bet you, they have plenty of work to do on this little reverse-engineeringproject. Revo normally protects their stuff quite properly.

I'm also interested in their developments, but let's not bug them too much right now.

Time will tell.

the link will be updated soon. i'm in italy for education. when i'm back home i will upload the original evo software..

To make it work with no serial username, no credit points and work on galletto interface. is not done in 5 min. and is my last priority i'm full time working in my own shop, give classes in highshool and workshops.

people with the right programming skills can contact me, maybe it will be faster that way.

@ Robby&Bobby (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/members/81191-robby-and-bobby/):

Thanks for the reply. You've helped me out a bit with your answer. And perhaps some other forum-members.

Let me explain :

I've found this revo-link to the software that looks like the screenshot as in the first posting you've made.

RevoFlash 3-Download-Download Center-UUCTECH (http://www.uuctech.com/Download/RevoFlash-3-Driver-download.html)

(http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/members/81191-robby-and-bobby/)Educational purposes -> Exactly that. I have no other intentions.

For professional use -> Invest in it, and be a dumb slave chiptuner.

Do you realy belive in free tuning files? -> No. I don't. Do you? Thats why your posting is very intresting. Especially if you would'nt mind to pass on some extra details. For instance, the useage of a galletto programmer, you've mentionned. Highly intrested in that.

If the link, i've posted is not the piece of software you where mentionning in your first post, please excuse me and would you care to post that file again and let us know?

Thanks,

Hi ALL, I have this Interface and software on CD which also has the same maps as shown in this thread (Exactky the same)

It also came with an instruction manual, basically the interface has been a certain amount of credits on it, it can flash 9 cars before running out of credits (Unless you read the EEPROM in the tool before you start to use the interface and make some copies :) )

Anyone wanna know more get in touch !!

Hi Remapking,

Would like to know more about it. If you can, please get us some pictures from the inside of the interface. There is a thread from robby&bobby where all interfaces are shown from the inside. If you would, can you place the pictures over there ? This is the link to it :

Yours is a VERY welcome addition !

Did you already used it on a car (successfully)? And ifso, which car (and year)/ecu (type) ?

Thanks for your efford,

Remapking Hello,

Thank you very much for your contribution!

Could you tell me if it works well? on that car? consumed after the 9 measurements, there are q buy more? how much they cost? there any way to "liberate" the interface to have unlimited attempts?

Hi Bascially its a clone of what i think is a Revo dealer tool, the dealer would pay for credits which allow them to map a car, this tool has been copied with enough credits for 9 cars (ie taken to china with credits and copied).. I own loads of remap equipment and just bought this to test as wasnt too expensive compared to some of the things i purchased.. It already has files loaded into it and allows some changes depending on what the customer wanted.. I have tried it on a few cars and it didnt have the files i needed and has now just sat around for a few months (all credits intact).. as most know just vag 1.8t has a variation of around 200 possible hw/sw number so dont expect it to work on all cars. In respects of unlimted use, i think it would be a case of copying the chip inside the tool a few times over :)

I think a different way of asking would be more resultfull.

But to be honest, the owners are too quiet abouth this tool. Robby&bobby also started a thread abouth it, and after some questioning, they went completely silent....

Good luck with your quest to crack the software.

I'm told from a few very good sources that revo maps are shit, just a little better than ebay cd, 'fast food' 'one size fits all' tuning. Its also a little tricky getting the ecu back to standard after.

pvl
25th May, 2010, 03:31 PM
I can only comment the same.

As of getting it back to standard, you need some tools to do that (K+CAN commander V1.4 can do that for some ecu's).

Or ask the Revo dealer revert it back to standard.

Don't forget to reset it afterwards, and re-learn values, as revo puts crappy values back so that the car drives less good, than before the chiptuning-job. Resetting values and re-learn should fix that.

del635
26th May, 2010, 12:53 PM
Yes^^^ that too, I only work with diesels so cant comment on me7 but they change the immo eeprom so if you flash the ori in it wont start, also read a debate on a chiptuning forum and the guys were saying after the free 24hr trial the car goes slower than standard to make you think the map was better than it was! This was done via the torque limiter iirc so the radaption wouldnt work! WTF revo=con

Download the software for it.

Look into the folder with tuned-cars it supports with this interface, and descide yourselfe if it's worth to you to buy this interface. As it only covers the supplied files that represent a small group of cars.

Hope that helped you out a bit ;)

REVO, APR are very serious companies, they invest a lot on R&D. Clones, as most of the time, are crap. Here`s some hard data about their chiptuning process:
APR vs GIAC vs REVO software comparison with datalogs and dyno charts (http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/85612-APR-vs-GIAC-vs-REVO-software-comparison-with-datalogs-and-dyno-charts?perpage=30&highlight=apr%20vs%20giac%20vs%20revo)

I think Revo3 is a very good tool for remapping ECU's, 'cause you don?t have to get original files tuned anywhere.
The problem is Original soft & Hard (http://www.revotechnik.com/) is expensive but for sure well done. Just have a look on the original site please.
When we buy (as me) a Chinese clone interface, we are all hoping this interface is marvelous as original ... and well:
-Interface is the same yes (maybe Chinese build it to Revo)
-The BIG difference is in which (Final Codes) come with.
With a clone you can do SOME 1.8T/2.4V6/3.0/2.7t etc ...
BUT: WHEN WE ARE TALKING ABOUT TUNING AN ECU, WE DON'T NEED CAR NAMES (BUT ECU SW/HD NUMBERS).

All of we know that for example in an Audi A6 2.4 V6 there've been fitted more than 20_25 different ECU id's ...
-3B0 907 552 J
- 552 P .... Etc
On the Chinese Pack you will only find 552AD & 552BM for this car & engine management :damnmate:
:hmmmm2:
But I'm completely sure that original cables come with the (WHOLE CAR LIST FINAL CODES) (Revo_Stock & Trial)

Ps/ For those who don't know about sps Revo: If you use a "trial" file for remapping your ECU, it means the engine will be Tuned only about 5 driving Hours, after what the remap catches down and your ECU recovers the original maps. So you'll have the impression that your car's not going so fast :D isn't it?

I'm not seller but very interested in working together on this!

I have heard a lot of opinions about clone/original revo and most of the pro's say that after using this interface for timelimited demo you get a lot of problems. In some cases you can't write another file, in other cases immo is modified and cherry on the cake I have heard one case when after trying to write via OBD the ecu locked itself up and won't comunicate anymore=> car won't start.

A630V

Hi all!
I've got some new infos:
-The Revo SPP interface is not salt to clients, but only to Revo Dealers into a Dealer Package that includes all the VAG maps and 1 USB_SPP. Note that actually, clones from china are Serial_SPP.
The complete price for a Dealer in my country seems to be about 3000€, including to, several units of SPS interfaces and other Revotechnik products.
The original interface works as well with credits, and you need to buy more credits after 9 cars have been done.
If you find "loosing maps", revotechnik will send it to you as an included service (not sure if paying for it).
About the function of a Revo SPP interface:
-It doesn't replace original maps
-It writes an encoded Revo soft to the ECU, that enables you to modify anytime, about 10 different parameters, depending on the car: Kind of GAS "octan level"/Boost etc, in a large field that goes from smooth to sports competition engine tune.
-The only operation needs credits is writing Revo sotf to the ECU. It isn’t needed for modifying parameters!

Well, that's all I know by the moment :)
I HAVEN'T HEARD about malfuntions of Revo SPP till now.
I'm just at the point of reading that RISC CPU: PIC16F876A so .... Go working on guys!

hi

taking a look at the pcb the only place where licences are stored is on pic16F, so that means if chip is secured it should be needed to rip the hex by power glitch or power stress, then only will be needed to rewrite the eeprom via isp,

on the other hand perhaps pic 16F has not been locked (I doubt), sometimes there are faulty batch not protected,

best regards

Thanks for your help H.Wessel!. Yes I think you're right. I'm gonna have a look on it, next week with my Willem AT3 unit.

I've already done a car but, I also think, if I can copy the whole content of the PIC 16F... I will always have enough credits for 8 more cars :D

Does the Revo Flash 3 have big injector and big turbo files or is just stage 1 flashes? I want to get one, but if it's only good for a stage 1 flash, I'd rather just get a flash from the dealer.

I personally wouldn't use a product that will lock you our of the ECU with every other tool.
Even the 'trial' is really the full tuned file which modifies both the mapping areas and your Immo. If you replace the modified file with say a stock one the immo will not let the car start as the checksum is different from what it expects.
Its the same with APR too and I think GIAC

All of these vendors have the ability to return the ECU to stock though which means they replace the modified/tuned file AND the modified Immo data back to a stock or close to stock form. This is what I'm interested in. If this tool can somehow replace the their corruption of the Immo, replacing it with a stock file there and thus returning it to a stock tuneable condition then it would save me a lot of time.
At the moment every car I get from APR I cant overwrite unless I use BDM and even then because of the corrupted IMMO it won't start. So I send every car back to them and have them remove their shit and return it to OEM. It wastes a lot of time and they hate doing it :)

So yeah just watch this tool and be careful of the modification it makes to both the mapping areas in the processor AND the Immo

Well, I've just tuned an Audi TT 1.8T 180PS here in Madrid, and there's really "nothing written" regarding the inmo.

I've read and saved 2 copys of the .ori file, before and after tuning, using my (MPPS), and both are the same.

Revo tuning as I know, puts an additional soft it works together with the original file (Quite easily removable using normal tuner tools). I can adapt the tune anytime I want, for different kinds of GAS and other parameters . . .

Yes there are files for big injectors depending on the model :)

Well the immo is on another chip of course so you wouldn't know unless you used a different tool. Then again maybe this version doesn't do it for some reason. The later stuff does I know that.

Is that TT ME7 ?

Very interesting though

Yes it's on a Bosch ME 7.5 -(8N0 906 018Q) ( It didn't need a wake up).Is an AJQ engine , and yes that's right, the immo info?s use to be onto another smaller chip

I really thank you for that additional info your showing 'cause we all want to know everything about this kind of tuning but, I'm also asking myself... Why someone who gets a Revo tune on his car, needs to give the "machine" to another tuner, for retuning it by the traditional way???

Well I guess, there should be had problems, so I think the Revo tune hasn't been done very well. Or maybe, you work onto a Official VAG Dealer garage??? and/or tried to made soft update (wich is completely avoid) 'cause Revo soft is ( encrypted and copy protected )...
If update is necessary ... the owner should first call his Revo tuner :five:

____________

The first thing I always made when tuning a car is passing a complete diagnosis soft and making a sports test on the road (I learned something about it in Switzerland _ On the Snow).
In this case, I used VCDS for diag purposes, and I found a fault on 1 injector, so send the guy to the garage before tuning.
He got this injector and the "Power Injector" changed

After that, we talk, and agree he's going to use from now on 98 octane fuel ... alright ;)

I told him to never get a software update from a dealer, or it should give important problems :)
>>
Read & save the .ori file with MPPS, and made a complete Revo tune.

After several days I made the final adjustments according to the user requests:
- Timing Adjustment: 5 (98 Euro fuel octane)
- Boost: 7 (performance boost = 6)

So tempted to make this purchase, the price on these REVO 3 Flashers have drop to $100 US. I just would hate if I can't reverse it.

If you have access to a BDM setup or for an older car an Eprom reader you could copy the original for both the immo eeprom and the map area in flash . Then you could apply the modifed file and compare the two. This way if things go wrong its easy to return the ECU to its original state
If its that cheap I might just buy one and have a close look I have all the gear

I have heard a lot of opinions about clone/original revo and most of the pro's say that after using this interface for timelimited demo you get a lot of problems. In some cases you can't write another file, in other cases immo is modified and cherry on the cake I have heard one case when after trying to write via OBD the ecu locked itself up and won't comunicate anymore=> car won't start.
after timed demo car goes slower than standard, Ive heard good guys says bad things about revo tuning, doubt this clone is much better, would still try but never on customers car.

I'm gonna try to help you a little into my possibilities.
Just tell me please (witch car exactly do you have and the ECU ID please?).
This way I can have a look to my Revo files and tell you if there's a dedicated Big injectors folder for yours, and also a stock file for reversing purposes.

Note I've never had to reverse a car before!
The only difference between Revo3 flasher interfaces from China and the original Revo dealers Sell is the connector.

_Mine connects to a USB_COM converter and it works well.
_The new interface from REVO DEALERS uses a USB direct connection.

Anyway, the best to ensure you can reverse your ecu to the original state is reading and saving the "whole ECU content" before tuning with Revo using an interface witch can do it, for completely reversing when needed ...
The actual price from my usual Chinese dealer is 150$ + shipping cost!
I know there are cheaper CN dealers, but I've also received some interfaces witch (still there not working), and I finally choose on buying there 'cause everything I've bought from, has been always working well.

I hope it could help you Rock! :wavey:

For Del635 ( There are 3 different kind of files U can use for each car :))(DEMO means ... what it means! (5 driving hours) It's been talked before on this same thread ;)

Sounds like the same story as most clones then!
