sounds like a coms 2k fault , try and disconnect the battery with the ignition on , switch the ign off reconnnect the battery and wait five mins before trying ... but if the car still starts then the wiring to the coms is ok and will be the coms or the bsi faulty but you will need lexia diag to check properly ........

ooh, wipers AND washers, 2 faults theres surprise.

if was just the wiper i would say the motor has lost it's earth, undo one of the bolts and put a link wire into the vehcile body.

if you test this with a test probe USE A FRIEND to turn on the wipers as you probe the motor body, sometimes the underbonnet 'sees' no movement and shuts of power to motor, put for a split second the earth goes as it's turned on.

second fault guess the washer pump is non sericablle (~~~ed)
keep pressing the washers and with a bit of luck it will destroy the bsi, cool eh.

this doent sound good advice citroen reccomend you,
1. open driver window
2. open bonnet
3. make sure all doors closed, wait 3 min for bsi to go to sleep.
4. it is now safe to disconnect battery.

this is the procedure for disconnecting battery so bsi software is not corrupted.

i definately wouldnt disconnect battery with ignition on if i were you. would check live data at comms unit, bsi and on actuator tests at bsi drive washers and wipers diagnostically, this will give you indication for what fault is.
bsi reboot procedure.
1 disconnect batt as above, (my procedure) wait 3 mins, reconnect battery
2. switch on sidelights threw open window
3 switch ignition on and test.

on 206,s ive known it be bsi but these cars it could be anything.

100% agree with obdmaster on this one (I guess meathead hasn't had too many of these with corrupt BSI units:rolleyes:) also out of curiosity is there any issues with the clock on dash (i.e time stays same till next ignition?)

For sure try soft reboot of BSI first very common to go tits up

1) in this part of the country, we will be mainly dealing with
peugots that have had water in the bsi, and bad earths on citroen
wipers

2) when you say clock, you mean the guy gets out of his car at 4pm
goes to work and it's still 4pm, drives 15 mins to work, clock says
4:15 home time at 6pm, still says 4:15?

the word on the street, is but not confirmable, because it is french
and they do things for no reason, just to piss you off the 'clock pulse'
as in the bit that ticks comes from the factory radio, no factory
radio no clock.

can't tell you what it is, but some american pile of junk the factory
radio is 'part of the car', the "turn signals" don't work, this don't work
that don't work, what you do is buy an 'extenshion cord' and place
the factory radio in the "TRUNK" then fit your stero.

i'll just stick to my bicycle thanks

start journey at 9am, arrive 3hrs later clock still says 9am, turn of ignition and restart car, time shows 12pm

This is a very common fault and the cure can be simple or needs a new BSI, but need to phone my autospark for the fix LOL

(no offence) but you are only half 'answering' the bet, it is french
so therfore it HAS to have two faults

1st fault = earth point on wiper motor case
2nd faullt = washer motor pump seized solid.

I'll have to say no because, in the real world the people that like me
i dont like, and the people that i like don't like me, Obdmaster
(apart from the his avitar) is a really nice guy.

But if admin/mods are 'watching' they can check that nobody has PM the original poster asking for a 'biased' answer.

Frankly i just don't care if i'm wrong, i didn't get where i am today
by sending rude jokes to a moderator! (and i will if i'm wrong)

isn't the wipers controlled via the VAN/CAN Bus Data Protocols? If so voltage may not be present when testing with volt meter.

i would agree with that, but you could arguee that a voltitude meter had/had enough of a 'short' to earth to make the underbonnet bsi go
'ooh dead short captin, pannick' and wake up boo.

OFF TOPIC:
somebody that doesn't like me gave me a 'Pure Evoke 2' digital
radio that had packed up, to keep story short, a SMD transister
has 12 volts up it's arse and gives out a neg (think) to the 'first' chip
on the board, i was poking around with my meter and it was like a finger
of fudge, just enough to make the 'first' chip turn on.
(just grabbed the first reistor i see that had a green band on it
and soldered it in, job done)

BACK ON TOPIC:

although i would never do this unless i don't like the bloke but the word
from "XXXXXXXX" jeep agent and scum of the earth, acutally say
'short the canbus wires to the body, if the head lights come on it's working' <SHIVVERS>
