Vectra ECU Mapping

Hi

I am a little bit clueless and sometimes get lost in the ECU mapping world! What with all the info going around and some of it I no is rubbish, but have I got it right that:

a) I can save my present ECU settings before remapping?

b) I can buy ECU maps for my car that have already been optimized?

c) What is the best software to use?

I have heard that Remap 3000 is the best and downloaded a copy, but it turned out to be in a foreign language, but the instructions to load are english.
