HI,

Forgive me if this is a really simple thing but as the name suggests I'm a bit of an idiot when it comes to my Dreambox.

I have a Dreambox 500c and have been using it fine for a few months now. The other day some of the channels were locked (i.e. you got the EPG but no picture or sound). I have tried all I can think of, and read most of the threads on here but nothing seems to work:(

I know someone who also has a 500C and his works perfectly, and he can get all of the channels. What I was wondering is if there is any way of copying their dreambox to mine (basically making a clone of theirs as I know it works)

Any help would be much appreciated - if I cant clone theres then is there any way of being able to unlock these channels??

Thanks in advance,

Your local dreambox idiot!

if you get epg but no sound or pic then i'd say you need to rescan your services m8

I have tried re-scanning all of the channels on Bruteforce, but the same thing happens, there is a small piture of a key on the info bar, the only channels I seem to get are the teresstrial ones, suggesting some of the channels have been locked

well if thats the case it sounds like youe emu/keys/roms are no good.

try reflashing dkv1 image from here ### Digital Kaos v1 Dreambox Image for DM500 C/S/T ### (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=3872)

flash that and download the keys from rapidshare in the writeup.

ftp the keys to var/keys and var/scce, then go to skysports1 and restart emu and keys should update in a minute or so, and picture will clear;)

Thanks

Guide to FTP'ing is here:- Guide: How to use FlashFXP to FTP to your Dreambox (http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=1307)

I personally would get a Null Modem Cable and Dream Up. Once connected you can just push Back-up, with the working box, then flash it back to your one.

There are guides everywhere on how to do everything, just look at the stickies.

I tried backing up the working one today using dreamup, but when it backs up the file it does not save it as the correct file type. It simply saves it as a file which cannot then be written to my box
