Sadly the E220, E620 & E630 usually need a hardware unlock. You can always use DC-Unlocker (http://www.dc-unlocker.com) but of course it's not free!

When you say wont work, does the modem accept the new SIM or do you get a signal but are unable to connect??

Remember that each network needs it's own connection profile!

A quick look at the Orange UK website shows the APN needed is: orangeinternet

Usually you just need to setup a new Profile in Mobile Partner.

For Orange these will (probably) be:

Name & Password: Both are blank
APN is: orangeinternet
APN Setting: Static
Dial string: *99#

Most have the IMEI on the device it's 15 digits long and starts with 35.

Otherwise you can go into your dashboard software and get the modems IMEI via the diag's or info menu.

You simply place a non-accepted SIM into the locked modem and enter the Unlock code when the box appears!

See my previous post! If your dashboard does not prompt you for a unlock code (assuming that you have installed the modem on your PC) then you'll need to use a generic dashboard from the link given.

The E122 will work on GPRS/EDGE in addition to 3G/HSDPA.
