Opel zafira 1997 dashboard shows -------

Hello to all. Is there a Opel guru here? A neighbor of mine owns a opel zafira 1997. While driving the odo display shows ------- , the needles work ok .
After battery disconnect the dash is ok for some time and then again -------. The day odo works while total is ------- .

If you have old TU you can try change mileage obd same problem

Same situation I have with a old Opel Astra , "no one had ever tried to correct it ", say customer . I disassembled the item and writte new good dump to eeprom , there was no good data for mileage in first bytes . Аfter a month again ------- on display...., just disconect the battery , and the mileage come again... may be hardware problem was in the dash...

I am not a Opel guru But i am sure in 1997 No Zafira was released [emoji1].
