I stumbled upon this thread while browsing and wanted to chime in. I haven't heard of 'The Auto Locksmith' magazine, but I'm assuming it's geared towards locksmiths who work with cars? It could be worth checking out if that's your area of interest or expertise.
However, if you're looking for literary magazines for new writers (https://blog.reedsy.com/literary-magazines/), I found this great article on Reedsy's blog that lists some awesome options to consider. It's always a good idea to get your writing out there and see what kind of feedback you get. Who knows, you could be the next big thing in the literary world!

Thats not quite the case and is inaccurate , genuine lishi and mr li were once in partnership with each other , when mr li had the concept for the 2in1 and had developed the first prototype tool which was the NE78 tool , he needed a backer to fund the production of the tool and to fund the development of new tools , he could not do this without funds and backing at the time, and as at a time not one of the big distributors wanted to invest .
UAP did the deal in return for exclusive distribution rights to the entire tool range , and as uap were funding the project and paying for everything , both uap and mr li owned the patents equally and the rights to the range , uap assembled a team which i was part of to obtain lock sets and help with the developemnt of the tool range from 1 to 20 tools very quickly , uap then invested millions in building the lishi brand worldwide , sponsoring trade shows around the world , building a distributor base and marketing around the world and the lishi 2in1 brand was here and growing , as the old lishi logo had already been cloned on old blind touch picks the genuine lishi brand was created and all went under this brand for a long time.
UAP spent a considerable amount protecting the brand and the tool patents and there were no copies of the tools because of this , no tools being sold by resellers and to anyone that wanted a tool online and the brand and the range grew and grew.
Mr Li came under pressure from all the chinese resellers to supply them , he held out for many years , but made the decision to supply the china resellers direct and no longer honour the exclusive agreements with uap , which caused chaos through the supply chain , the china resellers sold cheap and at half the price the distributors could and the trade wanted cheap , what followed was many cloned tools from the likes of auto smart etc in china to drive prices lower , this was the begining of the end and where mr li and uap went their own ways .
as both owned the patents and as both equally owned the range , they went their seperate ways , uap with their genuine lishi brand and mr li moved to his original lishi brand and both produced and traded seperately , i liken it to a messy divorce complete with alot of finger pointing , dirty tricks and anger on both sides of this divorce , until they became seperate brands competing with the now many clones appearing.
for me it was a sad time , as i miss working with mr li , he is an amazing engineer and locksmith and is a good friend , then uap who the owner is also a good friend , i miss them both .
The undisputable fact is MR Li couldnt have enjoyed the range he has without uap there financial backing which was millions and their marketing expertise to build and promote the brand worldwide , and uap would have had nothing to market and wouldnt have made the profits they made without the genius and the engineering skills of Mr Li , alot was lost for both after the split. they were stronger and better together , but hey ho thats life.
now the divorce is old news and everyone has moved on , mr li still makes great tools and uap invest in other areas and there is no longer animosity on either side , both are still my friends as both have been throughout , and i hope they both prosper and grow , though mr li does deserve time out to relax with his family and enjoy life , he has earned this and i hope experiences this, he will always be a legend.
but the point is genuine lishi did not clone anything , both genuine and original owned the patents and the rights to produce the tools as both did , the dirty tricks on both sides during their bitter period prolonged the upset and something neither should be proud of , but many years on this is now calm and both doing great in their own arenas and best of luck to both in there seperate paths , li continuing with his great tools and uap venturing into other more profitable areas for them , friendships intact and past left there where it belongs .
both have released a unique tool the other has copied , but neither were clones of the other as both owned the rights equally , but the future of these tools is mr li as uap step away from the locksmith market and tools fully eventually and mr li continues to work on new tools continuing his new developments .
we would not have the tools we have today if it hadnt been for mr li and uap working together and building the team there was in the begining , so both were necessary ingrediants to what we have enjoyed for many years , i would love to one day see them hug it out and collabarate on something new , though cant see it.
ive never promoted one over the other and never fallen out with either , both are still good friends of mine and im better for the influences ive enjoyed with both and long may these friendships endure , mr li is a gentleman that if you meet him you never forget him , he is truly 1 of a kind and the only true lishi expert in our world and im proud to be his apprentice and friend .
i was there from day 1 right up to the end and beyond and you had to be involved to know the truth behind the split , i saw this play out and it was a painful experience to see 2 friends fall out with each other , as i say i liken it to a couple you are good friends with equally going through a messy divorce , my relief is i maintained friendships with both and didnt take sides , but lost alot as it was great working with both as a team.
in my career ive been blessed to meet and work with the likes of mr li , chris belcher , safe ventures and many inspirational locksmiths that i fear the likes we will never see again , but mr li is for me the most inspirational influence , the way this trade has gone such skilled figures will cease to be , the likes of mr li dont come along often, but when they do i hope theres a UAP or similar with the forsight to invest in them so their genius grows too , or this trade is finished .
but the only true lishi expert is and will always be Mr Li , if you get the opportunity to meet him and spend time with him then jump at the chance , as he is a very special locksmith .
