Hey! I'm new to this forum and this request is for help with my first attempt at a crash data clear. I have a 77960-A012-M1 module from a 2005 Pilot. Some information I read says the chip is a 25320. The only 8 pin chip I can find on the board is illegible. I assume that is the correct chip, please correct me if I am wrong.

Also, my carprog software does not list a 25320 chip as an option to read from. Is there another chip # that this crosses to? Do I need a different tool? Any suggestions here would be great.

Lastly, and maybe a dumb questions, what is the best way to clean the protective coating off of a chip before attempting to read it?

Thanks again for any help.

All 25xxx series chips are identical to the 95xxx series chips. So 95320 is the same as 25320.

The chip you are looking for is a TSSOP-8. These are smaller than the normal SOIC you are accustomed to looking for

FOR cleaning the eeprom legs I just use a sharp razor blade and gently scrape it off, works fine for me. Others will use chemicals like acetone.

But for TSSOP-8 chips I use a Ohm Meter to find the solder pads on the back of the circuit board and solder the A4 cable to the points corresponding to the pins of the eeprom and program that way

For your first module you picked a more difficult one... I wish you the best of luck

Thank you for the assistance. I will give that a shot when I get back to my shop on Friday.

Are the points pretty simular across the Modules?
I always just pull them off and hot air to an adapter I made but my eyes and steadiness aint the best anymore for putting them back nowadays

There are about 4 different boards from 2005 to 2015. I posted Pinouts for 3 of them on a thread somewhere here in the airbag forum. I'll have to find them and post link

Here are links to my posts with the solder points for most of the Honda boards with TSSOP-8 (except older CRV and Pilot)
