Hi to all,

Can someone please give advice on PRC 2.1 unlock VW Polo 1.6TDi 2012.

Ok Car has come with dpf removed from car but ECU has not had dpf removed.
Could not read via OBD (so guess ECU is locked) ECU has been opened before but did not look like any connections had been made inside.

So proceeded to unlock via BDM Tool returned UNLOCK OK
Put ECU back on car, run car, stop car, now I can read & write via OBD but writing MODDED FILE goes to 100% then returns message ECU REJECTED PROGRAMMING. car don't start.
Can write ORI 100% ok car runs.

So after searching DK found out about manual unlock method & also should backup 95640 before proceeding (Which I did not do)
Have tried with another ECU & my tool does not unlock correctly if I compare tool unlock & manual unlock DATA very different.

So my question, is there any way to fully unlock now. I don't have good eep dump, I only have partial unlock eep. so did not want to try manual unlock when eep data not original.

Any advise on how to proceed please.

Thanks in advance.

Hello

You can check also if the ECU status is locked or unloked.

With VCDS look for variable Measuring block 497 or 359. If PRODUCTION it's locked. If SAMPLE then unlocked.

Or you can search for "SAMPLE" in "Advanced Measuring Values":

X_ECU_TYPE-LVSWMD_ISSAMPLEMODE ---> PRODUCTION (before unlocking)

X_ECU_TYPE-LVSWMD_ISSAMPLEMODE ---> SAMPLE (after unlocking)

one more time make unlock, because when make 2 time unlock ecu is again locked. If previous guys make dpf only via OBD, ecu is still locked...

ps: make dpf or egr off only via manual solution, automatic software do not good file or make rejected programing

Thanks to all who replied with useful information.

Will give manual unlock try.... After unlocking via BDM once I did not want to try manual method and end up with a brick.
Car no good as it is........

Fingers crossed will give it a go.

Thanks again.
