faulty new r270

hi all

ive recently purchased a new r270 bmw programmer
it has this weird problem

I plug it to laptop and power and quickly read something
but then I cant write back to chip

I let it sit for half a day disconnected then quickly power it up and I can write
then I tried to read again to make sure it all went in ok but I cant read

so then I disconnected it and went to bed then I just woke up and it read perfectly

has anyone seen this problem
I might see if I can send it back
or just learn to use it once then disconnect it for 8 hours then use it again
