What are the consecqueces of updating an iphone after its been jailbroken and unlocked?

ive just got my new iphone 3gs.. its on 3.1 and am thinking of unlocking/jailbreaking it..

will i still be able to update to say 3.1.2 after this?

does doing this affect warrenty?

are there any bad side effects of doing so?

sorry if some of these questions are noobish!

Update to 3.1.2, jailbreak then unlock m8 it's all good now.
or you can use custom 3.1.2 firmware or custom 3.1 firmware and unlock.
All you do if there are any probs with the phone is update it back via itunes, and take it back to apple.

ive just updated to 3.1.2 as im now aware 3.1.2 is unlockable now..

so unlocking and jailbreaking is completely safe? no way apple/o2 can cut me off from the service in any way?

im still a bit cautious about it.. it all seems a bit tooooo easy if you know wot i mean! lol
