Phone went mad for 10 mins.

Few of the guys i have done boxes for have been banned at 8.10pm tonight.

They all have either a hitachi or benq drive. No news on samsung drives yet.

I have a liteon drive just switched on and connected to live.

This got me thinking that maybe they devised a way in which the can detect the drive you use now and what firm it is running.

Seeing as these drives came before the liteon and the liteon took that wee bit longer to hack has got me thinking that this is a way they can detect.

As i stated in a previous post these guys have not used wav 4 and never played before game was released.

Also the agbx website is down and that has sent alarm bells ringing in my head.

I am tempted to switch my machine on and leave it on.

Can anyone else who has been banned leave details of there drives here so we can try and figure a little more about what is going on.

As you may have read online, we’ve been actively banning consoles from Xbox LIVE that have been modified to play pirated games. Our commitment to combat piracy and support safer and more secure gameplay for the more than 20 million members of our Xbox LIVE community remains a top priority. All consumers should know that piracy is illegal, and that modifying their Xbox 360 console to play pirated discs, violates the Xbox LIVE terms of use, will void their warranty and result in a ban from Xbox LIVE. The health of the video game business depends on customers paying for the genuine products and services they receive from manufacturers, retailers, and the third parties that support them. This would also be a good time to remind you that the warranty on an Xbox 360 console is not transferrable and if you purchase a used console that has been previously banned, you will not be able to connect to Xbox LIVE.

Firmware on the drive i meant. How easy would it be to detect the firmware on each drive?

It would be very helpful to know if it is possible that MS can detect the firmware on the drive. If this is true, then any box with non-stock firmware would be banned.

Naturally this would be a disaster and perhaps spell the end for people who wish to play online flashing their drives. Someone needs to get to the bottom of this so at least we know whether once a drive's firmware is flashed the box can or cannot be used online.

Only come on to check pms. Ok here's what i can gather :

All revisions of firmware, 1.5, 1.51, 1.6 are being banned, all drives, not only benq and samsung.

People are saying checked through ABGX and was verified ok. Only played online after release date or played only after release date.

I am not banned, niether are any of the consoles i have flashed and only release games for.

I suspect its down to a game or 2, unsure what.

During the ban wave i have updated from 1.51 - 1.61 no ban.

1 thing that is very very possable, once a iso is burnt to disc, it can actually fail stealth after been burnt but the iso passes. I came across 1 the other night.

Hope clears up some of the speculations.

Apparently a previous system update installed a file deep within the achievement section to record all games that had been played that had indeed been patched and played before there release dates, therefore the latest update oct 09 as reported this back to xbox, therefore the bans that are happening. I myself don't use live and won't with my flashed xbox, so when i needed to play new wave 4 games, it would not let me play them as it kept saying i needed to do the latest update, but because the game was patched, the wave 4 update would not install,(something new they have added). So i had to borrow my m8's hard-drive, which was tottaly up to date and as soon as i attached it to my xbox the update performed and after putting my hard-drive back on, all my patched wave 4 games work perfectly. oh yeah and my xbox as firmware 1.4 and indeed it is a samsung drive. :)
