Hi,

I'm trying to correct the mileage on an old dash for a Rover with a 93s56 eeprom. I have desoldered the chip and used a seeprog programmer to read the chip. I used Tachosoft to correct the mileage but can not find the correct string in the eeprom dump to change, so then I tried Licznik 4.0 and this read the mileage at 455992 which is not correct. It allowed me to alter the mileage which it changed the dump but I don't want to put it on my car in case its wrong.

I've bought some 93c56 chips to re-write the new dump and solder back on to the instrument cluster. Any ideas?

Tachosoft reads that I should be looking for this line

"0040: 24 30 94 19 5F CF 24 30 94 19 5F CF" but it doesn't exist in the dump.

Hope these are ok, I have uploaded the Binary file and a screen shot.

The

0x00040 AA 55 25 64 5A 56 A8 5D 70 B2 93 CO

Should apparently read

0040: 24 30 94 19 5F CF 24 30 94 19 5F CF xx xx xx xx

Mileage is 455952 not as above, I remembered wrong! But its still not right!

On the seeprog I read the device as 93c56 and saved the binary file to what I have attached below

The orignal mileage is unknown as its a 2nd hand unit but was less than 100,000. I need it changed to 51948.

Did it work Ok then....? I have a decode package From CDH electonic's ...( the original scource of all decoding packages )... Its a bit old now but for om things like eeprom work still works a treat...The ecryption on that one is not easy to work out .. Can do and do,do a lot f them by just working out the encrytion....
Been t it a while now ... Glad it worked mate..
