Sounds like the sort of problem I had with them.
Received my goods damaged + wrong parts, I ordered a cable box, hard drive & a spare plugin Sat tuner.
Everything was in bits when it got to me,
hard drive/tuner + fixing kit, all loose inside the dreambox's cover which had broken off components from the dreambox motherboard,
the only response I got from emails are the automated reply's stating "thanx we will get back to you".
Since I posted + PM'd Linuxsat on here I have noticed that Linuxsat or someone has removed the Sponsorship from DK completely.
I can't even find the PM that I sen him, is Linuxsat even still a member on here?
Ian
P.S. Hope you get yours sorted out mini...

Hmm. Did you get it sorted Ian?
I bought a DM600 of him in September.
The NIC on it was faulty. He was very helpful on MSN. I sent him the motherboard back but the one he replaced it with had faulty graphics (well picture was all fuzzy via both scart & composite.
At that stage he actually asked me if I wanted to go to his house to try some other boards! lol.
Anyway, he ended up sending me a 3rd board with a promise of replacing the DM600 altogether if that board didnt work.
The board did and does work ok.
I do have a couple of problems with it..
1. If i leave it in standby (say overnight) for a while it sometimes freezes.
2. When I stop a recording it just seems to pause it. Also, when I select 'file' mode it automatically plays the last recording watched.
i havent got round to looking into these niggles, infact i'll post here about them and also ask him.
2 upset people plus the sponsorship removal is interesting though!
Anyone else got opinions about Linuxsat? Especially Admin/Mods.
I'm after 2 more boxes. Iv'e got a DM600 and a Starview 2 which has been faultless for nearly 3 years. The new ones have cable and sat tuners so the swap to N3 is gunna happen soon.
I find the fonts and EPG on the DM are terrible to view no matter how you play around with them.
The EPG and preview on the Starview is a big plus but no network is a big minus.
Anyway, i'm off or i'll be here all day!!! lmao

Yes m8,
I got it sorted in the end, I was going to send the whole lot back & claim from my (credit card insurance), coz I was furious that they posted the goods without any protection..
But eventually managed a 1 to 1 with a guy called Naveed, & he talked me into replacing a few parts, he said it was a bit difficult to arrange as he was out of the country, but we got there in the end..
It's funny coz I have just replied to your problem about your "freezing" box in another thread, seems we are following each other around but did not know till now that you have playing with EPG... lol
Yes I would like to know what happened to the sponsorship removal thing..

not a popularity contest, just honesty.
I would have prefered if the guy had told me the truth and said it would take a week or two. then I would have ordered drom china or wherever, saving some cash while i'm at it. Now the person i ordered for is having a go at me thinking i stiffed him.

they have a 600c on their site for ?199 wonder if its genuine. If they are going to be selling 500c clones they need to be around ?75 delivered.

It has been very rare I have heard bad reports about Linuxsat, It was the good reports that made me get my DVB600 from him it was delivered in 2 days and have never had a problem with it.
I would definitely use Linuxsat again.

I Had similar probs to ScouseMickey with a DM600C. Naveed sent me a replacement mainboard which was unflashable and I eventually got a DM500C which is perfect. Excellent after sales considering Naveed was out of the country. They're not a big company remember, but get my vote certainly.

In my case, the communication has been excellent.
I ordered a DM800 from Linuxsat on last week, delivered this Monday, only to find out that the tuner is not working properly.
So sent mine yesterday morning, lets see how long it takes for me to receive the replacement.
Communication has been excellent, so lets wait and see.

Quick update -
Still awaiting for the replacement tuner, this being our excellent royal mail services, I will probably never get it.
I also sent the tuner to Linuxsat and they havent got it yet aswell......seems someone from Royal mail are nicking our tuners....lol (not funny).
I will update this as we go along......it is now over a week since the box arrived, and still not TV watching.......
This is not fault of Linuxsat, as we have been maintaining excellent communication throughout.Although the box should have been working in the first place.

All resellers have signed a contract with DMM distributors that if they sell clone boxes they will have to pay a ?5,000 for each breach of contract this is for any dreambox that you sell or advertised. How come you sell original and sell (advertise) clones as well.
