Basically what's the benefit of converting the rs232 to Ethernet in relation to the dw800?

Would it be worth while doing with what looks like the inevitable nag3 change thru vm?

If it is where can you get 1 cheap? lowest I've found so far is ?80.

Thanks, scotty

Got it down to 50 quid but seen a belkin hub cheaper but don't know if it's does the same job. It ha USB 2, Ethernet, rs232 etc all in one unit but unsure if it would convert the rs232 to Ethernet. Will try post a link if someone could have a look and yah or nah it.

The benefits of allowing ethernet access mate is that you have, in theory, the ability to provide linux support for the box.

Dont pretend to be an expert on this but its a decent marketing ploy but why would you want to purchase a box with no ethernet support and its closed source when you already have an excellent open source linux box such as the dreambox?!

If you want an hd box mate you may wish to go for the dm800 and you can swop tuners from cable to sat if need be. sd try the open media box with dual tuners again.

See your in Falkirk mate - hopefully we are last :D
