VW Tiguan 5N component protection

hi guys i have a question , a customer contacted me today to see if i could remove component protection in dash of 2017 tiguan ,i asked if he changed dash and he said no , when i asked what happened he said he has vcds and he was trying to disable the seatbelt warning and he came across the component protection button and pressed it to see what it was (lol) and all of a sudden the dash started to flash and safe cp came on with all warning lights ... i didnt think vcds had a component protection button but he brought his laptop to show me and there it was ... now my question can i read the gateway and reflash the dash with the same file to the virgin dash ... thanks dk

There are adaption channels to enable/disable CP for different things.
If the guy has disabled it (and you get a CP message on radio) then you can just enable it, no problem.

But flashing and "safe CP" I have never heard of before
