hi all 2007 ford focus 9s12 chip connection

hi all
im trying to read a 9s12 chip on a 2007 ford focus using my clone upa

i did some searching and found to use the 6 pins on the back


pulled dash apart and soldered wires to the inside of the dash and plugged the wires into the 9 pin serial plug on my upa

i then tested connections on the upa and it said all good

when i read it says successful read but the data is all FFFFFFFFF

is there anyhting special like lifting a pin of is it just my upa that cant do it
i did do a search on here and found upa should do it


the connected the wiring as such

from back of dash top right is bkgd so that went to pin 6 on upa

bottom right is ground vdd and it goes to pin 9 on upa

bottom middle is reset and it goes to pin 7 on upa

bottom left is vss and goes to pin 5 on upa

does this sound right

on my upa it has the bgkd pin
and a vssr
and a vddr
and a reset


is vssr supply

and vddr ground

opps think i found vss is ground

i just wired it up right but it stil just get all FFFFF on the upa screen
says it reads it ok

might double check solder

its just all FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
like a bad read or bad solder
but ive gone over it afew times now

try power upa from powersupply not from usb

Mate, upload here a picture or your board, I maybe have the pinout what you need to read that

hey jomb here are some pics of how i have tried to hook the wire up
the last pic of the cable from the upa and how ive ran wires into the upa
does it look liek the right way

hi all
i played around with upa and could not get it to read
did some searching and found pinout for digiprog 3 and use connector 48
managed to wire it up and digiprog 3 read correct kms an I used t to change them

just waiting for reply from customer to see if it all went ok
