Hello guys. My friend has Audi A5 3.0tdi 239hp 2008-2009 EDC17 8K0907401F. I was wondering, the ECU have a tuning protection or no? If there is, how to know for sure. I have MPPS V21 and FG-tech V54. Both of tools are a chinese clone.
Probably I have to put ECU in tricore boot mode or BDM, then read the ECU and change bits with WINOLS then write the file in the ecu. Which tool will do a good job for mi.

Yes this Ecu have a obd protection you have too read it tricore make a patch to and then edit patched file and write mod. After that you can read write via obd.
I do not know if MPPS and galleto clone will do it. I do it with K-Tag

Open ecu, do via bootmode.
15min job and safety, no dangerous
