Hi there, living in south lanarkshire area and having problems with scrambled channels on eurovox ex5000 pvr, can get fta channels but no others, has anyone got any suggestions please?

Hi Angelina, welcome to the forum.

Have you tried putting it on Sky Sports 1 then rebooting the box? It should say something like 'updating keys', leave it there until the channel comes on.

What version of Eurovox do you have and what firmware are you using?

When did the channels disappear? Was it recently or was it back in April?

If it was April, there's new firmware out and you'll need to upgrade if you want the channels back. There's firmware for each box in the download section.

have just taken delivery of this Eurovox ex5000 pvr, and have just plugged it in and switched it on, only to have the fta channles. On looking at the system information, it says s/w vers 1.0 ST4 Jul 04 2008

You will need to flash it with the latest firmware.

You will need a null modem cable to connect to your PCs serial port (if it has one). Download the above firmware, use Winrar to extract the .exe file. Keep your box turned off, run the program then select download, then START, then com1, then turn on your box and the firmware will be updated.

If you don't have a null modem cable, you can get them from ebay or Maplin. maplin with rob you blind for one and you can get them on ebay for under ?3.

Thanks for the help and advice, null modem cable came with the box however I dont have a serial port on laptop so need to get an adaptor before I can update.

You can get a USB to null modem cable on ebay but they're not exactly cheap.

Had to get a usb-serial converter then drivers lol however on changing to port 1 then following the rest of your instructions, on downloading software to the eurovox the taskbar on pc screen goes from left to right then once it has stopped the time goes up to approx 95 seconds then a message appears saying downloading has failed?
