Hi,
My vehicles immobilizer got water damage. I ordered a used replacement part. After I got the replacement part, I installed it then tried to pair the immo to the ecm using HDS.
The HDS keeps spitting an error about the ECM needs to be paired but when I tried to do it in HDS it always fails. I then open up the immo and found the eeprom to be 24c04wp. I search online and got a hint that it's write protected. I assume that after the immo is programmed, it cannot be rewritten again, hence the WP on the chip used.
I fixed my problem by soldering the old eeprom from the broken immo to the replacement immo. The car is working fine now and can start without needing to reprogram in HDS.
Now, my question is, can the IMMOBILIZER be re-virginized so it can be used again without replacing the eeprom from the original? I will attached the dump I made to that eeprom. I hope someone can shed light on this.
