Hello , I'm working on a older red button OTC Genisys. I made mistake of not using correct 3421-76 plug on Smart Cable to BMW m70. Borrowed 3825-28 plug from buddys OTC Touch. Checked power and data pins and were ok . Except i didn't check ignition coil was shorting to obdii plug ground.
I fried my Smart cable and one DME coil driver.
I replace smart cable with used untested Smart cable, all well except no communication to CAN protocol cars. Checked expansion port and checked plugs for short or open and all good.
Trying to see if I have bad Smart Cable or bad Scanner.
I buy smart insert cable but I have smart insert 3306-01. Need 3306-22
Can you open up your old 3306-22 insert to trace connection? Just use small drill bit to cut melted tabs on back of insert, glue back. Can not find one yet and don't want to spend any more money on it. Has system 5.0 so it's not ready to retire.
