Hi guys.

My specialty is not BMW, but I am trying to help a friend.

We want to swap an DDE4 ECU in his car from an used car. (Old ECU suspect of some problem).

ECU 0281010314

I de soldered the old EEPROM 5P08C3 from old ecu and soldered in new ECU.
Read full flash with Kess from old ecu and flashed on new ecu.

Strange thing is that AFTER swapping EEPROM and writting Flash , when I do ECU ID on the new replacement ECU it still shows me VIN from the replacement ECU ?

Put new ecu with the OLD eeprom and old flash in the car and tried to start.
It will turn but no start and says engine blocked by EWS.

What I do wrong and what should I do different ?

You tried syncing them?

You tried syncing them?

I have only Abrites and it said not possible.
I have now tried to virginize EEPROM to see if it works.

After write all data into new (old) ecu you must synchronize dde=ews ,cas. after it tou will start engine..

Worked now.
Virginized EEPROM , made sync of DME - EWS and now car starts and runs.

Thanks.

Try with this one.

It worked with my solution, but thanks.
Don't wanna desolder the damn eeprom again or open ecu for boot :)

Only way to get VIN correct is to boot mode it and then flash your backup file from the old ecu.
If you are in the UK, I can do this for you if you are prepared to pay for the return postage.

I tried to read it also in boot with MPPS generic EDC15 , but could not get all info out ?

When I first looked at this pic, I almost gor cried. Come on man, this is the new Subaru. Considering the fact that you do not have any insurance you have only two reasonable choices: firstly, you can repair it, but it depends on the master you will adress to. I have 10 years working at the car repair service and can say that this kind of repair will cost you an arm and leg. Therefore, you can theoratically repair it but this is not worth it. And this comes to the second choice: to sell it on Car Wreckers (https://www.noblecashforcars.com.au/car-wreckers-melbourne/) or something. I probably recommend you the second choice because they will give you much more money than for an old broken car. For that money, you can buy the new one (by adding some money).
