my JRT had the trotts when he was about 9 weeks old.. we had to feed him purely on rice with scrambled egg for about a week..

then after that we threw him on glutien free food.. he's been fine ever since.. now 7 months old..!!

stay away from pedigree and bakers.. full of shit..!

cut out the goats milk.. thats enought to me the shits.. its real creamy ;)

it may take a few days for the effects of the solids to drop off.. his little bowels arent developed enough for meat yet..

goats milk only and he should be fine until 6-7 weeks, then slowly introduce a bit of weetabix mashed up with goats milk.. then a good quality complete food like Alpha..

hi vtorres,
pups when their that young can be hard work m8 can be up and down, just make sure their is no blood in his stools which can indicate parvo, have a little jack russell pup myself which was only four weeks old when we got him, very young to be taken from the mother, was up and down for a good few days with diarrhea and would not take any water. my daughter had given him a powdered worm dose when he had nothing in his stomach and it damaged the lining in his stomach.its taken a week to nurse him back to full health. just make sure you keep him warm and and he should come good, best of luck m8.

with puppies that young mate its when they want it not when you dictate it to them.. whereas i can feed our Reebok (yes thats his real name lol) 3 times a day at roughly the same time a tiny puppy like yours just feeds when he's hungry.. he'd just walk over to his mum and have a suckle whenever he felt like it.. your his mum until 7 weeks..

Reebok says hello..

Dont kow may JRT's that sleep with a cocked leg and wear combat hoodies when out on walks lol

my sister was told this once by a vet when her dog was having kidney problems, " most tinned dog food is to high protein and is no good for them it can knacker their kidneys/ livers up later in life your best feeding it white meat and some veg" the dog is now 18 and still not bad for its age. thought u might find this interesting.

Hi, I don.t know if this is useful to youself or other members !

Rescuing Rover: A First Aid and Disaster Guide for Dog Owners ........

Sebastian Heath, Andrea O'Shea, "Rescuing Rover: A First Aid and Disaster Guide for Dog Owners"
Purdue University Press | 1999-02-01 | ISBN: 1557531021 | 53 pages | PDF | 1,5 MB

Whether you're hiking with your canine friend in a remote area or work with a dog on a search-and-rescue team or police force, you need to be prepared for emergencies when veterinary service is not available. Rescuing Rover: A First Aid and Disaster Guide for Dog Owners provides dog owners, handlers, and emergency physicians with an understandable guide for safe treatment until the dog can be transported to a veterinarian. Although a number of books describe some techniques for the emergency care of dogs, there is no single illustrated summary that is as practical. With its concise, easy-to-read instructions, detailed and beautifully rendered illustrations, and convenient format, this book covers such common medical procedures as bandaging an ear and constructing a makeshift muzzle. Written in consultation with canine handlers from FEMA, staff from the AAVDM and the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine, it can also be used as a practical learning guide for veterinary medical and technical students.
