I have someone inquired to do one.
What is inside ? how to do it right? what to watch for, or stay away ?
I have Smelecom New DSP Ⅲ+

Program eeprom in dash and put can filter in BDC module or in dash.
Don't use cheap filter!
Remember: can filter is not very good solution. Mileage is in more modules. Also battery

eeprom in this dash have 2number is 160WQ and 35128 if dashbrod inside use 35128 will use adpter

sounds like better don't touch if goes to dealer for warranty work

Tiburon Dual Canfilter in BDC works like a charm!
BMWCleaner required for a good job...
Emulator for eeprom required if eeprom type is different than 160D0WT or 160D0WQ
2014 will probably need no emulator but a good 160 eraser is what you will need 100%
BMW Explorer may be usefull to reset some registry too...
Smelecom and DSP i would never connect this to an i8...

Honestly i got one sent by a customer and i didnt ask the location...most probably same as all of them...

I know is a super OLD post, but just for those that need the info, BDC is located on the passenger side (US) on the kick panel.
It's easily done with AUTOHEX. Instrument cluster no need emulator on a 2015.
