Hi guys,

Can anyone help me with this. Need to decode a Fiat Blaupunkt IDC-A09 changer with the following details..

sn bp915024329153

Can anyone help, Ive tried a few calcs I have but dont fully understand how to enter the code into them correctly. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Decoding (before removal):
Example 1234:
a) Press the Λ button once.
b) Press the >> button once.
c) Press the Λ button twice.
d) Press the >> button once.
e) Press the Λ button three times.
f) Press the >> button once.
g) Press the Λ button four times.
7. Once you have correctly entered the
entire code, confirm your entry by
pressing the ENT button.
The red LEDs for all the eject buttons
begin to light up.
Switch off the radio (do not switch iton again).
The IDC A09 code is now deactivated

Thanks Sanixmen, as soon as i receive the unit from the 2nd hand carparts dealer who provides me the changer (without code) i test your code. They pull everything out of the cars but often codes are not there or they dont keep the codes that come with the parts together.
Today the dealer did already activate the changer in the car software.

Apparently it requires code, based on the serial number, I have a card code for the existing CD changer, but the new one would use different code obviously.

I tried, but the code wasn't accepted.

Apparently the code that I have in the key card is for the head unit, so it will not accept any new code.

The newly installed CDC is not recognized by the head unit, I will do further investigations and in the worst case will replace the whole electronics board from the old CDC or the eprom only, if I can figure it out and if it is replaceable.

In the best case I have to find a way how to program the new CDC to be recognized by the head unit, I tried pressing buttons 2 and 5 on CDC simultaneously to no avail, my guess is that the head unit is programmed to accept the factory code from the old CDC only.

I never got the option to enter code for the CDC, spoke with the seller of the device and he told me that it never had any code set.

When I connect the CDC and press the CDC button on the console I got the message: "CD-C Software Initialization..." or something similar and it stays like that.

Anyway, I replaced the board from the old CDC with the broken mechanics (very easy, 10 minutes work) and now it works like a charm (the new CDC with the old board - in fact the "new" CDC is older than the "old" one). There are some differences in the layout of the 2 boards, but mechanics seems the same and the major electronics components are the same.

I suspect that there might be a programmed code in the CDC board that is unchangeable and the head unit is paired to expect that code as part of the connection protocol (theft protection), or alternatively, the connection protocol is different between the 2 versions of the CDC's (unlikely, but possible, also I have Maserati and the "new" device came from Alpha Romeo apparently).

In any case the problem is solved and I am satisfied with the outcome.

The code is entered by using the buttons on the head unit that it is plugged into.

Please note that code entry is only possible after the code for the stereo has been entered first. If the unit may is codelocked it will need to be left switched on up for up to two hours to reset before another code entry attempt is possible.

Code Entry as Follows:

If Required, Enter Code in Head Unit First.
Press And Hold " CD.C" Button
The Display Shows "CD Player" Then "0000"
Press preset " 1 " repeatedly for 1st Digit
Press preset " 2 " repeatedly for 2nd Digit

Factory code is really 6634. If you make the coding procedure right, maybe somebody
changed the code, or dump can be corrupted. Send your dump from 24C16 or try my

After changing my ecu, the radio asked for a code and guess what... the code noted down by the old owner isnt right...
Got the radio to work again, but if one code isn't enough the CD changer has one too... the good old days
