Does any one use diagnosis tools on a peugeot 406 HDi 2001
I have an Elm 327 interface, But Which software???
Any Help please

Diesels do not have to comply with EOBD until 2004. Not likely that a Elm interface will work on this vehicle.

Thanks for that, but I am wondering why the car has a OBD2 socket just below the steering wheel, does it support some other protocol??

Yes, Peugeot specific.
It has the connector because that is mandated by law for petrol cars in 2001. Using only 1 type of connector is cheaper for the manufacturer.
OBD2 is only used in the Usa and Canada. In Europe we have EOBD.
