Hi everyone.
I'm having some issues with the mileage displaying on a 2014 cadillac XTS cluster. I'm trying to install it into a Vauxhall insignia, however the mileage is just dashes.
It has been programmed properply with my vin.
Weird thing is the 2013 version works and does display the mileage. Although I can't use that one as it's just for automatic transmission.
I have no clue what my next step is, so any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Lewis

Probably because the 2014 cluster is Global A architecture, that contains vehicle security protocols, not just the VIN.

Thanks for the reply, the 2014 one does work on someone's car in Italy.
Everything else works on the IPC except the mileage.

Also, mileage is not stored in the cluster in XTS, it's in the BCM.

Thanks for your help much appreciated. I'll see what my dealer can do regarding the bcm.
Bit of a strange one regarding why 1 does work and the other doesn't

So I found a little bit more information. The cluster reads the mileage from the bcm and stores it into a local eeprom which is this guy.

When you connect a 12v to the cluster it will still show the mileage that was previously stored in there. The problem is for some reason the cluster is locking and cannot read the mileage from the bcm.
As previously stated, this cluster was working 100% on someone's car outside of the USA. I'm not sure what my next step is. I can try getting my dealer to flash my bcm again or accept defeat and run with the dashes. Many thanks

Do you change VIN no on Insignia's cluster?
What tool do you have? MDI? If yes, I can change VIN on cluster.

Security access?
Clusters, is this basicly the same way the new GM trucks work? Cant swap cluster becuase of same issue?

Sorry I've been really busy with work.
The vin number has been programmed into the cluster and I have checked with op-com to make sure it has worked. The vin shows correctly and the correct part number for the cluster shows.
It could be a security access issue. My dealer doesn't want to help me as it's not factory specification.
I'm just confused to why a 2013 unit works and a 2014 one doesn't, surely they can't have changed that much?

Some time ago I swap cluster from 2013 to 2011 and it work. I also try to swap cluster from 2017 and it works, but cluster with color LCD has other pinout, and control buttons is different (in 2011 is on resistors voltage differential, on color LCD it's on digital LIN bus communication).
But after program VIN the milage shows correctly and other functions also works fine.
