I need to swap a faulty cd unit for good 2nd hand .

cd unit in glovebox
PANASONIC

8V0 035 874 B
STD NAV MOST DAB

where is coding stored ?
I cannot see any eep on pcb .
can anyone help ?

Forget about it.
It is protected by Component protection and FSC codes for every function like Navigation,Bluetooth,Mirrorlink etc etc.

Dealer is the best option.

do you mean dealer can recode 2nd hand unit .....or new unit is only option ?

Dealer can recode CP and then SVM which will install FSC codes for all the functions that the previous unit had.Any retrofit FSC codes would have to be reinstalled also.
