Hello friends,
I have finally managed to read my ECU with MPPS v13. Please can someone help me to remove the Nox sensor. The codes are:

P1033 (vw 17441)
P1071 (vw 17479)

I erased codes before reading the flash - hope that doesn't cause problems.

Car is 2005 Vw Golf Mk5 1.6 FSI
Part No SW: 03C 906 056 AK HW: Hardware No
Component: MED9.5.10 G00 6095

Many thanks.

Thank you so much AVDigitale! I have pressed thanks button but it won't let me give you rep again as I have already rep'd you in another thread recently. I'll try again in a few days time.

I will write the file to my car and let you know once I have tested it. Many thanks again

Managed to write the flash file to ECU without bricking it using China MPPS. I was worried that it would kill the ECU as china goods can be very unreliable in quality. Will know if code returns within 200 miles of driving.

Finally managed to add rep to AVDigitale. Thanks mate!

I do have a question if you don't mind me asking. When I read the ori ECU flash I did have a DTC (00229 - Refrigerant Pressure) in memory. Will this DTC now stay in the ECU forever i.e. I won't be able to erase it with scan tool? I tried erasing it but it came straight back. In the past it took some driving before it would come back. It's not a big issue, I'm just curious whether I should have erased that code before reading the flash.

Thanks again, I'll will give you feedback on the Nox sensor...

Hi,
NOx off file, you can disconnect sensor.

Thank you so much Pike! Is it absolutely necessary to disconnect the Nox sensor? I want to keep it connected if possible.

Do any of the Nox off solutions turn off the stratified charge mode (FSI mode)? I have read that turning off stratified charge mode makes the car run better upto 3000rpm on the VW FSI engines so maybe it would be good if it did. By turning off stratified mode it would only use homogeneous mode.

Did you ever get any info about disabling stratified injection mode?

Unfortunately I didn't manage to get a concrete answer to this. But my feeling is that Stratified mode is disabled as soon as Nox sensor is not working correctly or disabled. I believe you can check whether the car is going into Stratified mode using VCDS - can't remember which measuring block it is of the top of my head. When I briefly checked my car it was never activating stratified mode.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: Just found VCDS block - it is possible to detect in measured value block 7, value 4 (8-bit binary number), whether the motor is in homogeneous mode (0000 0001) or in stratified charge mode (0000 1000).
