Drive does not need to show up.
As long as jungleflasher can send mode b.
Make sure the firmware is in the JF folder. The hitachi must be returned to stock if it is Ixtreme already. Then reflashed.
I think the error may be that you dont have the firmware in the JF firmware folder.
Stick the original firm and the ixtreme 1.51 firm for the 79 in the folder and try again.

i used both win api and port io, when i try to dump it i get ,
"dumping f/w of hitachi 0078/0079 by ram upload method over port io
ram upload - execute failed"
i have 4 bin files of each ix1.51 79 and orig79,
this drive has not been flashed before

instead of using the refresh button to get it to show up in the list change the port number on the left to something else then back to the drives port, if it still doesnt show up then click refresh under the drive list. if you have via drivers installed use winAPI if you removed via drivers use port io. without via drivers it wont show up with a drive letter in windows but it should still show up in the jungleflasher drive list.
i did a 79 fl the other day, it did the same thing.
